JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after a shooting Tuesday night on Jacksonville’s Southside. It happened at about 8:42 p.m. in the 3400 block of Saland Way near the Woodspring Suites on Beach Boulevard.
The entire park lot of the extended-stay hotel was blocked with crime scene tape late Monday. Investigators remained at the scene early Tuesday.
No arrests were announced and police said they have detained multiple witnesses. The victim, who has not been identified, was seen in the parking lot with an “unknown person” minutes before the shooting, a Jacksonville police news release states.
Witnesses told police they heard arguing before hearing multiple gunshots, the news release states. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they did not know the relationship between the victim and the shooter who drove off in a dark colored vehicle.
