Jacksonville, FL — If you're looking for a new job, you may want to focus on applying at smaller companies.
"We are moving into... in the work world... into a bit of a feast-famine cycle," says WOKV’s Consumer Warrior Clark Howard.
Howard explains that he's seeing a new job trend, where big corporations are cutting jobs, while smaller companies are hiring.
"The general trend around the country, is that the bigger a company is, the less likely they want you as an employee and the more likely it is, that they are, in fact, reducing headcount," says Howard.
Howard says the smaller the company, the better off they tend to be doing right now. He says that could mean big perks for job seekers.
"They need you here and you're there, and so they offer to pay for you to move. They may offer a guarantee that if your house doesn't sell in a certain period of time, they'll pay you for it. The kind of stuff that used to be common," says Howard.
