Jacksonville, Fla. — Action News Jax has learned construction on Riverfront Plaza will begin in a matter of weeks.
According to the City of Jacksonville, the first phase of construction will begin on June 5.
Riverfront Plaza is the site of the old Jacksonville Landing.
The Landing was demolished in 2020, and since then the grassy area on the Northbank has been used for a variety of festivals and events.

The winning design for Riverfont Plaza approved by the Downtown Investment Authority will include a central lawn, play space, a river terrace, a hotel, and outdoor dining options.
