Jacksonville, FL — It's a $100,000 facelift for a Northwest Jacksonville park.
The NFL Grassroots program, which is a partnership between the NFL Foundation and LISC, has chosen Yancey Park for a new $100,000 grant to pay for major park renovations.
We're told the money will be spent on the following list of improvements:
• replacing the irrigation system
• adding a new scoreboard
• laser grading to provide a crown on the field
• installing 419 Bermuda playing surface
The president of LISC Jacksonville released the following statement about the park improvements, "These parks are more than safe places for kids to play and engage in health fun. They are community's gathering place for neighbors and families to build positive, lasting communities."
Yancey Park is the second park LISC Jacksonville has helped fix up in the last year and the 12th overall.
