A LaVilla School of the Arts student has been arrested for a bomb threat which forced the campus to evacuate for much of the day last Tuesday.

WOKV told you about an Instagram account under the name "lavilla.killer" which showed images of the school, explosives, and quote blocks talking about bombs. The arrest report for the 13-year-old- who we are not naming because of her age- now confirms that Instagram account was the center of the threat which forced the school to evacuate for multiple sweeps through the course of the day. Nothing suspicious was uncovered.

The student’s arrest report says investigators were able to link the Instagram account to her family’s email and address. Police then searched her phone and found a web history that included searching for “threats to a school”, “a picture of a bomb on a hand”, and similar things. The report further says some of the images that were found through these web searches match what was posted on the Instagram page.

The student has been arrested on a felony count of false report about planting bomb or explosive.

A statement from Superintendent Nikolai Vitti says their focus is a “safe and secure learning environment”.

“Making a bomb threat has immediate and long-term consequences including criminal charges, student discipline and monetary fines. We take these threats seriously as they cause significant disruption to our learning day, forces our students and staff to lose valuable instruction time, incites negative emotion and frustration among our school and community,” the statement says.

Vitti is urging parents to talk with their children about these consequences.
