A 12-year-old boy has been arrested for reporting a bomb threat, which Jacksonville police believe he wrote, at Darnell-Cookman School of the Medical Arts.

Darnell-Cookman was evacuated on May 10 after a written bomb threat was found inside the school. No threat was found, and school dismissed at the normal time.

A school resource officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office interviewed the boy after he claimed he found a bomb threat note inside the school the day before. The officer started to suspect the boy wrote the note himself, and he was transported Duval Schools headquarters.

The boy was charged for the bomb threat and disturbing the school day.
