15-year-old girl injured after shooting on the Northside

A teen girl has non-life threatening injuries after getting shot in an incident near Monaco and De Paul Drive, which is just south of Dunn Ave.

Jacksonville police initially said the victim was 16-years-old, however, in the new incident report obtained by WOKV, the victim is actually listed as 15-years-old.

Police say they’re now searching for a gray, 4 door car which they believe is connected to the shooting. Police say the girl, who was hit in the upper body, was in a blue truck with 2 other people when she was taken to the hospital. JSO says the incident is most likely not a drive-by shooting and they are going through surveillance video to try and piece together what happened. Police say the other people who were in the blue truck are cooperating as police investigate the incident.

One woman spoke with our partners at Action News Jax, and she says she heard about 4 or 5 gun shots.

“Its sad, you don’t know what’s going on, and in broad daylight too, ya know, any body could be walking by like I could of got caught in the crossfire.” She says.

JSO says they don’t have a description of the suspect or suspects in this incident.
