Mayor Lenny Curry says curbside recycling will return in April

Curbside recycling pickup will return in Jacksonville in April.

Jacksonville — The suspension in curbside recycling pickup is almost over for Jacksonville residents.

Mayor Lenny Curry announced today that the suspension will end April 4. He says he’s “grateful to our citizens for their patience during these challenging and unprecedented times as we’ve faced issues happening in cities throughout the nation.”

We told you earlier this month when a special Jacksonville City Council committee was appointed to investigate the recycling issue, months after the suspension started in October and drop-off sites opened up.

Residents continued to voice their concerns in December, which got the ball rolling for members of the City Council to hold town halls and public meetings to discuss the issues.
