College football fans – including President Donald Trump, who was in New Orleans – flocked to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to watch the teams battle for the title.
LSU quarterback Joe Burrow threw for 463 yards and completed five touchdown passes, a record for a BCS or college football title game, according to The Associated Press.
LSU's win marks the Tigers' fourth-ever national title and their first since 2007, the AP reported.
