Westmoreland, 52, pleaded guilty to use of interstate facilities to transmit information about a minor and must surrender to prison no later than July 18, NBC News reported, citing court records.

The actor was also sentenced to 10 years of supervised release after completing his prison time, Deadline reported.

He must also register as a sex offender for 25 years following his release, Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Choate told NBC News.

Westmoreland was charged initially with one count of alleged coercion and enticement to engage in sexual activity with a minor, which carried a maximum 10-year sentence, but he was allowed to plead guilty to the lesser charge, defense attorney Wendy Lewis confirmed to the network.

Westmoreland, who played grandfather Henry “Ham” Mack to the title character on “Andi Mack,” was fired from the Disney show amid allegations of trying to arrange online to have sex with a 13-year-old, Deadline reported.

Prosecutors alleged that Westmoreland communicated in 2018 with an undercover law enforcement agent pretending to be a teenager on the dating app Grindr, NBC News reported.

According to the network, Westmoreland claimed that the online connection amounted to role-playing that went too far.
