ARLINGTON, Va. — Nestlé USA initiated a voluntary recall Thursday of a limited quantity of its Nestlé Toll House Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough tubs, citing the potential presence of soft plastic film.
The recall applies strictly to three batches of the tubs that were produced between Aug. 1 and Aug. 3 and distributed to retailers nationwide.
As per the recall notice, issued in concert with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the following three batch codes are affected:
- 22135554RR
- 22145554RR
- 22155554RR
“While no illnesses or injuries have been reported, we took action out of an abundance of caution after a small number of consumers contacted Nestlé USA about this issue,” the Arlington, Virginia-based company stated.
Thursday’s recall is separate from the recent unrelated recall of Nestlé's Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with Fudge Filling.
Consumers who purchased the affected cookie dough are advised to not consume the product and to return it to the place of purchase for a replacement or full refund.
“The quality, safety and integrity of our products remain our number one priority. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action represents to both our consumers and retail customers,” Nestlé stated.
Consumers may contact the company by calling 800-681-1678 Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EDT.
