Starr, 82, was scheduled to complete his tour with the All-Starr Band, but he went on social media to announce the cancellation, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“I’m sure you’ll be as surprised as I was I tested positive for Covid,” Starr tweeted Thursday. “The rest of the tour is off I send you peace and love Ringo.”

The tour cancellation comes less than two weeks after the Grammy Award winner contracted COVID-19 on Oct. 3, according to TMZ, forcing him to postpone their show at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, the Times reported. The show was later canceled while Starr recovered.

Starr initially canceled a date at Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, Minnesota, the Star Tribune of Minneapolis reported. The venue originally reported that Starr did not have COVID-19, but a spokesperson later confirmed to the BBC that “Ringo has COVID-19 and the tour will be on hold.”

That forced Starr to cancel shows in Canada, including concerts scheduled for Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Lethbridge, Abbotsford and Penticton, People reported.

Starr had resumed his tour on Monday, tweeting that he was “on the road again.”

Starr was traveling with the 15th incarnation of his All-Starr Band since it was formed in 1989, the Star Tribune reported. Current members include Edgar Winter, Toto’s Steve Lukather, Men at Work’s Colin Hay and the Average White Band’s Hamish Stuart.

Starr, who was born Richard Starkey in Liverpool, England, on July 7, 1940, achieved stardom as a member of The Beatles, who took England by storm in 1963 and followed it up by spearheading the “British Invasion” to the United States in 1964.

Starr has also appeared in films, such as “The Magic Christian” in 1969 and “Caveman” in 1981. Starr also appeared with The Beatles in their movies, “A Hard Day’s Night” and “Help!” He also had a cameo role with his Beatles bandmates at the end of the 1968 animated film, “Yellow Submarine.”
