SEATTLE — A Seattle spa employee is recovering after he was shot and injured during an attempted robbery, authorities said.

According to KIRO-TV, the incident occurred Thursday night at South Bay Massage and Spa on Renton Avenue South. Emergency responders rushed the wounded employee, described as a man of Asian descent, to a nearby hospital for treatment, the news station reported. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, authorities said.

Investigators said there was no indication that the shooting, which occurred during a robbery attempt, was a hate crime, KIRO reported.
Authorities are searching for two suspects in connection with the incident, according to the news outlet. No further information was immediately available.
The news came days after eight people, including six Asian women, were shot and killed at three separate spas in Georgia.
