MADISON, Wis. — A Wisconsin man is accused of operating a vehicle while intoxicated for the eighth time after he crashed a car and fled the scene, authorities said Wednesday.
Mario Pez-Izaguirre, 61, of Madison, was taken to the Dane County Jail on Sunday and booked on tentative charges of OWI, possession of cocaine and a parole violation, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
According to an arrest report, Pez-Izaguirre’s car crashed around 7:50 p.m. CDT, WISC-TV reported.

According to police, bystanders took Pez-Izaguirre’s keys from him before authorities arrived, the television station reported. Pez-Izaguirre was arrested after attempting to flee, the State Journal reported.
According to Madison police, Pez-Izaguirre was taken to an area hospital for an evidentiary blood draw before he was taken to jail, the newspaper reported.
