Back to School: Where to get free school supplies this week in the Jacksonville area

If you are in need of school supplies for your student this fall, Action News Jax has compiled a list of giveaways happening this week in the Jacksonville area. See below:

FRIDAY

Lifesouth Community Blood Center is having a drive-thru backpack giveaway at 6003 Crill Avenue in Palatka. Backpacks will be filled with school supplies. It will take place from 10 am to noon. happening from 10 to noon at 6003 crill avenue. Your child must be present.

SATURDAY

BEAM, a nonprofit organization is hosting a drive-thru giveaway on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon at Neptune Baptist Church. Backpacks will be filled with school supplies, books, pencils, pens and clothing vouchers.

In Clay County, the Civic Association is having a supply drive. School physicals and free visions screenings will also be available. It’s happening from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Middleburg Civic Center on Palmetto Street.

SUNDAY

A back-to-school event will take place at Third Mount Zion Baptist Church in Yulee.
