WOKV news has learned Cherish Perrywinkle's mother was Baker Acted following a meltdown at her home on Sunday.
According to the police report, Rayne Perrywinkle, says she is depressed following her daughter's murder. The report indicates Perrywinkle threatened to hurt herself. Her fiance, Aharon Pearson, told police she became violent throwing dishes at the wall and at Pearson.
Police say Perrywinkle told them she didn't know what to do anymore and wasn't sure why she was breaking glass. Investigators say they took her into custody under the Baker Act.
8-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle was abducted from a Northside Walmart back in June and her body was found in the woods hours later. The man accused of killing Cherish, convicted sex offender, Donald Smith, is in jail and faces first-degree murder charges.
