We're hearing the city's response to a proclaimed whistle blower's allegations about Animal Care and Protective Services.
A spokesman for the mayor's office, David DeCamp, denies claims Animal Care & Protective Services has bad business practices.
An anonymous email from an insider at Animal Care Services alleges other employees kicked back and propped their feet up, instead of vaccinating animals. It also alleges they were putting down dogs for no apparent reason. Another claim, that employees were forced to listen to sexual innuendos between Animal Care & Protective Services between employeesand that inappropriate sexual contact was taking place at work.
DeCamp denies all of these claims.
"At this point, none of the emailed allegations have been substantiated."
He says, in fact, the organization has been recognized twice by the state in the past four years. He also contends, they are up-to-date on all vaccinations for animals.
"Our initial indication from the department is that the department is up-to-date on vaccination."
However, he says employee services has just started their review. He tells WOKV it will be a thorough, fact-finding process.
