Consumer Warrior Clark Howard: The job market in the US is still very good

Jacksonville FL — If you are looking for a job or are looking to change your career path, Consumer Warrior Clark Howard says this is still a good time to find a new way to pay the bills. Clark says don’t get discouraged when you see stories about companies laying people off because there are still a lot of opportunities out there.

“The overall unemployment rate in the country is near historical lows and it means that opportunity is still out there”.

Clark says if you have been laid off recently, this is actually a good time to have had a bad event because of the number of job openings still out there.

According to the latest jobs report from February, 517,000 jobs were added, and the unemployment rate sank to a new 53-year low of 3.4%. Also, the latest data on job openings show they rose to 11 million in December, that’s up from 10.4 million in November and the highest since July.
