Now-former Jacksonville teacher pleads guilty to child porn-related charge

Jeremy Clark told the FBI that he taught algebra at First Coast High School.

Jacksonville, FL — The now-former local teacher accused of sending explicit images of young children to an undercover agent online has now pleaded guilty.

We first told you earlier this year that Jeremy Clark was arrested, after his Ponte Vedra home was searched by the FBI. Clark was a teacher at First Coast High School at the time of his arrest. The Duval County Public School District says Clark was an annual contract employee, and that contract ended in early June and was not renewed.

Clark initially pleaded not guilty, but changed that during a Friday hearing in federal court. He has admitted to one count of transporting images depicting child sexual abuse over the internet.

Investigators say Clark responded to an internet bulletin board message. He then messaged with an undercover FBI agent and sent a link containing images of prepubescent children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Clark has been in custody since his arrest. DCPS says he has not returned to the District, and they have referred this matter to the Florida Department of Education Professional Practices Commission.

He faces between five and twenty years in prison, with a possible life term of supervision. A sentencing hearing has not yet been set.
