FHP: Man hit, killed by semi

Troopers say a pedestrian was killed Thursday morning after being hit by a semi-truck in St. Augustine.
A man is dead after a crash involving a semi-truck in St. Augustine Thursday morning. 
The crash had U.S. 1 southbound near Shores Blvd. shores closed for some hours as the Florida Highway Patrol investigated.
The identity of the victim has not been released, pending next of kin notification. FHP says he was a 42-year-old man from Altoona, Pa. 
St. Johns County Fire Rescue said they were called to the accident just before 7 a.m.
According to the crash report, the man was walking in the southbound lane of U.S. 1 when he was hit by the semi-truck. Troopers said the victim ended up in a ditch on the west shoulder. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
