Jacksonville, FL — It's unfortunately that time of the year.
The Jacksonville Humane Society and Animal Care and Protective Services are both critically full, so they're offering free pet adoptions all weekend long.
"This is the time of year when shelters get critically full, so we are asking our animal loving community for their help. We've waived adoption fees through Sunday so there has never been a better time to adopt your new best friend," says Denis Deisler, Executive Director of JHS.
JHS and ACPS say there's two ways you can help:
1) ADOPT
-The Jacksonville Humane Society Adoption Center will be open this weekend, Friday 12 am to 7 pm, Saturday & Sunday from 10am – 5pm. The Adoption Center is located at 8464 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville.
-Animal Care and Protective Services Adoption Center is open Friday & Saturday from 10am – 6pm. They are located at 2020 Forest Street, Jacksonville.
2) FOSTER
Foster homes are needed, especially for large dogs. Every animal that is in a foster home frees up a kennel, helping local agencies to save lives. To become a foster, email the JHS or ACPS Foster Office at: foster@jaxhumane.org; ACPS email: ACPSFosters@coj.net.
