The annual Guns and Hoses charity boxing match takes place Saturday night at the Veterans Memorial arena at 6:30pm.
The president of the Jacksonville Association of Firefighters, Randy Wyse, tells WOKV its the 16th year of the annual event.
"16 years ago the first one was at the Morocco Shine and we were kind of making up stuff as we went along."
Wyse says every year thousands attend the match between local firefighters and police officers. The current trophy sits in the FOP office but Wyse says on Saturday night, his crew, is going to light a flame to the men in blue.
"We let the FOP win last year because you got to let them win every once in a while."
The proceeds go to support the Police Athletic League and the Jacksonville Firefighters Charities.
