The State Attorney's Office says Thursday Chad Absher was indicted by a grand jury for first-degree murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend Ashlee Rucker. Absher is accused of shooting Ashlee and her sister, Lisa Rucker, in a condo on San Juan Avenue in 2017.

According to the affidavit for arrest warrant, Absher shot the sisters in the head after an argument which started over Absher not giving back Ashlee's car keys. Lisa survived the shooting and spoke with our news partner Action News Jax as the death penalty is still on the table for Absher.

“I wish that he could be killed, the same way he killed my sister and tried to kill me, honestly, but that’s never gonna happen.” Rucker says.

The state says Absher is facing charges of attempted First-Degree Murder as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Absher’s trial is scheduled to start at the end of March.
