Jacksonville parents close to bringing their miracle baby home after experimental surgery in the womb

Jacksonville, FL — She was the first person ever to undergo an experimental surgery while in the womb and she is one step closer to coming home to Jacksonville.

She spent six months in a Texas hospital and had to undergo three open-heart surgeries.

Her future is uncertain, her parents Geoff and Rachel Finn say she will need another surgery in the next few years and eventually will need a heart transplant.

“We don’t know how long she has, or what she’s going to do a week from now, a day from now,” Geoff Finn said.

Her parents said they are grateful for every moment they have with her.

I’m so thankful I get to be her mom, and be my sons’ mom, and get to do this. It’s made me really appreciate my kids on a whole other level.” Rachel Finn said

The Finns want to raise awareness of HLHS.

Right now, the surgery remains experimental.

The family expects to come home to Jacksonville at the end of April.
