JSO among local agencies urging residents to have a hurricane plan, as we track Hurricane Irma

Jacksonville, FL — As we continue to watch Hurricane Irma's long-range track for what the storm means for Northeast Florida, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is reminding you to be prepared, just in case.

JSO is asking everyone to have a hurricane plan in place and make sure your neighbors have one in place too.

Specifically, police recommend the following tips:

-Have enough food and water for each person for one week.

-Have prescriptions filled and enough medicine on hand.

-Radios, batteries, and phone chargers ready.

-Gas up your vehicle.

-Have extra cash on hand
