Jacksonville, FL — It initially looked like a false alarm, but an alarm call at a Green Cove Springs business ends with a 38-year-old man facing a felony charge.
According to the arrest report from the Clay County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called out to the EZ Stop Food Store late Wednesday night in reference to a burglary alarm.
When deputies arrived, the outside looked normal, but deputies looked inside the building, itself, and spotted ceiling tiles and other material laying on the ground and out of place.
The owner of the store was then called to unlock the building and once inside deputies found a revolver inside the rear storage room. Deputies continued searching and eventually found a man hiding in the ceiling of the business. He was later identified as Nicholas Hollifield.
Hollifield is now charged with armed burglary.
👏🏼Once inside, our officers located the suspect who had entered from the rooftop and come down into the business. Along with the suspect, a firearm was also retrieved. Upon conclusion of investigation, the suspect was arrested for armed burglary. #CCSOFL #YouGotOptions
