Jacksonville, FL — More than two months after Hurricane Irma ravaged communities in NE Florida, First Baptist Church of Middleburg is donating Thanksgiving meals to 5,000 people.

This is the inaugural “Feeding the 5,000” event on the church campus at 2645 Blanding Boulevard, in Middleburg.

The church pastors and volunteers will hand out one box of food to each of the first 1,000 families beginning at 10am.

The box contains a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and a pumpkin pie.

First Baptist Church of Middleburg served as a central location hub for distribution of donated goods for families affected by flooding from Irma, especially around the Black Creek area.
