‘Night at the Zoo’ series kicks off Friday at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

$5 admission returns to Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, but there's a catch

Jacksonville, FL — 'Night at the Zoo' is back at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. The series kicks off Friday, June 21st, with a 'Sports Night' themed party.

"It gives people an opportunity to come when it's not, you know, blazing hot outside and kind of have a little bit more, just truly, more fun than you would normally have at the zoo," says JJ Vitale, the zoo's supervisor of public relations and membership.

'Night at the Zoo' begins at 6:30 PM and runs until 10:00 PM. The event features food trucks, open restaurants, and cash bars. There's also live music and a DJ. Additionally, the zoo's animals remain on exhibit until 8:30 PM.

"Because the animals are out until 8:30, you start to see some of those animals that, maybe, do sleep a lot during the day," says Vitale.

If you want to attend, 'Night at the Zoo' tickets are available online, pre-sale only. Members pay $10 for adults, $8 for kids. Non-members pay $14 for adults, $12 for kids.

There are three more 'Night at the Zoo' events planned: July 12, July 26, and August 9. We're told the themes for these nights include Family Game Night, a Night of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and the first adults-only event.
