Jacksonville, FL — A Northwest Jacksonville home has been damaged in a fire, but the State Fire Marshal’s Office says that fire is considered suspicious in nature.
It happened overnight on Breve Drive, which is near New Kings Road and West 45th Street. Our partner Action News Jax reports that several children live in the home, but were at their grandmother’s home at the time. The family is now staying with a relative.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire is considered suspicious in nature, but they’re not elaborating more at this time, as they say the exact cause and origin is still being investigated. They valued the damage to the home at around $10,000.
If you have any information about this case, the State Fire Marshal’s Office is asking you to contact the Arson Tip Hotline at 1-877-662-7766. You can choose to remain anonymous, and anyone with information that leads to a successful arrest and prosecution could be eligible for a cash reward.
