Jacksonville, Fl — A bicyclist was struck and killed while crossing Atlantic Boulevard in Arlington. Authorities say the woman was riding across the westbound lanes, west of the East Beltway, just before 7 pm Monday, when she was hit by a vehicle.
The victim was transported to the hospital and later died from her injuries. The driver is reportedly cooperating with police.
Around the same time, a bicyclist who was reportedly not in the crosswalk, was also struck and seriously injured near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Barkley Road.
Police say that the victim, a man between 40 and 60-years-old, was not in the crosswalk and the driver that was traveling westbound had the green light.
Traffic homicide is investigating both crashes.
