Jacksonville FL — A fire at a condominium complex on Jacksonville’s southside has displaced 30 people and destroyed at least 12 units. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue says the fire was reported around 4AM Saturday at the Preserve at San Jose Condominiums on Old Kings Road not far from Baymeadows Road and Philips Highway. JFRD says no one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
JFRD says when they got to the scene they could see fire through the roof and conditions quickly escalated to a third alarm. We’re told the building damaged is in the back of the complex and most of that damage is on the second floor.
The Red Cross is helping those who have been displaced.
