Rain and storm coverage to increase for end of week, weekend

Jacksonville, Fl — Today still looks a bit hazy but maybe a little less so than yesterday. The Atlantic sea breeze stays pinned near the coast today, keeping I-95 and the beaches in the threat area for storms later today.

“Scattered rain and thunderstorms are going to be developing this afternoon inland with the sea breezes. A few showers on the Atlantic coast sea breeze as it advances inland early to mid afternoon”, said Action News Jax Meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh.

There will be more storms Friday, potentially impacting the Jaguars preseason home opener at 7 pm at TIAA Bank Field (on FOX 30) and Saturday as a frontal system approaches from the north.

Sunday and Monday for back to school in Duval County Public Schools look drier before more storms percolate Tuesday and Wednesday.

TROPICS: A tropical wave in the Central Atlantic has a brief window of potential development before it moves into an environment that will weaken it.
