Sizzling September heat continues

Jacksonville, FL — Temperatures are starting off mild this morning in the 70’s. Today will be another hot day with near record high temperatures. Highs will make it to the mid 90’s inland. This will be the third day in a row of 90+ degree heat in Jacksonville. The average high is 85.

Wednesday set another record with the high of 96 degrees at Jacksonville International Airport (94 was the previous record from 1961).

The lower 90’s remain on Friday. Onshore winds return for the weekend. This will knock us back down to the 80’s with a few coastal showers.

Tropical Storm Karen is moving through the Southwest Atlantic. It is expected to make a loop over the weekend. Karen will likely weaken into a remnant area of low pressure over the weekend. Hurricane Lorenzo will stay out to sea in the Eastern Atlantic.
