The teen who was hit while skateboarding near Palencia Tuesday has now died.
The Florida Highway Patrol has now identified the victim as 17-year-old Hunter Dudley, of Ponte Vedra. Troopers say Dudley was on a skateboard in the shoulder of US 1 near Pine Island Road, when he veered and was hit by a van. The driver of the van stayed on scene and administered CPR until help arrived.
Dudley’s injuries were initially classified as critical, and FHP now confirms he died Tuesday afternoon.
Any charges are pending further investigation.
