Bridegan’s wife to murder suspect: ‘Help us in this nightmare that we are living every single day’

Jared Bridegan was gunned down Feb. 16, 2022, in Jacksonville Beach after taking his twins he shared with ex-wife Shanna Gardner Fernandez and his 2-year-old Bexley, his daughter with wife Kirsten Bridegan, to dinner. The software engineer had just dropped off the twins at Gardner-Fernandez’s house when he encountered a tire in the one-way road.

Jacksonville, Fl — The only person charged in the murder of Jared Bridegan was arraigned this morning in Duval County on four charges. 62-year-old Henry Tenon is being held with no bond on second-degree murder, conspiring with others to commit murder, accessory after the fact, and child abuse.

Bridegan was a father of four killed in Jacksonville Beach nearly one year ago. He was shot execution-style when he stopped to remove a tire from the road.

“This was a planned and targeted ambush and murder,” Jacksonville Beach Police Chief Gene Paul Smith said during the announcement of Tenon’s arrest.

The State Attorney said Tenon did not act alone, and they’ll seek first degree murder charges. Bridegan’s wife, Kirsten, said today was a day she has prayed for for nearly a year.

“We have a long road in this fight. Henry Tenon is only one piece, only one of the people responsible for Jared’s murder,” Bridegan said.

She appealed directly to Henry Tenon, asking help in ending the nightmare they are living every single day. Tenon is due back in court on March 21st.
