The Duval School Board Police arrested Damon Edwards for allegedly bringing a gun to Fletcher High School Monday morning.
Police arrested the 16-year-old for possession of a firearm on a school property.
WOKV is told the school district sent a “robocall” to parents Monday alerting them of the incident.
The police report said another student told school administrators about the weapon.
Fletcher administrators said students were not in danger.
A spokesperson with Duval County Public Schools said Edwards must go through a disciplinary process to determine whether or not he will be able to go back to Fletcher.
