USS Zephyr returns to Mayport on Monday after deployment

Homecoming on Monday Sailors attached to the USS Zypher will be coming home to Mayport.

Families will be reunited Monday when the USS Zephyr arrives at Naval Station Mayport.

The Cyclone-class coastal patrol ship has been deployed to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations supporting Joint Interagency Task Force South’s mission. Part of the mission involved counter drug trafficking operations in the Caribbean along with their U.S Coast Guard detachment.

This was the first time all three of Mayport’s coastal patrol ships were deployed at the same time, according to the base. The Zephyr is the last of the three to return.

All three ships are set to decommission in January after 20 years of service.
