Jacksonville — Just in time for the holidays-a new Walmart is opening in St. Johns County.
Wednesday, Walmart will become the first store to open at the Durbin Park Pavillion. The new store will offer North St. Johns County shoppers a chance to buy groceries and other items.
According to a release from Walmart, the store will hire approximately 350 associates. The superstore will be open 24 hours a day and offer free online grocery pickup.
To celebrate the grand opening of the store there will be a movie night on Friday, November 9, 5:30-9:30 p.m. The store will show The Incredibles 2 and there will be food smaples, games and giveaways.
There will be a Harvest Festival on Sunday, November 18, that will feature giveaways, samples and crafts from noon- 6:00 p.m.
The Walmart is the first of dozens of stores slated to open at the Pavillion at Durbin Park.
