Laura Vaughn is Afternoon News Anchor on 104.5 WOKV. Laura joined Jacksonville’s News and Talk station in 2023 after more than 35 years of varied radio broadcasting experience in Chicago, New York, Washington DC, west central Florida and now Jacksonville. Laura started her broadcasting career in college when she was hired as News Director at the local commercial radio station while finishing her studies. Laura has covered a lifetime of news stories including the Oklahoma City bombing, The 9-11 attacks, Chicago sports championships, The blizzard of 2011, transit strikes, teacher strikes and elections. In her free time, Laura loves to exercise, listen to music and spend time in the water, truly enjoying all that life has to offer. Laura's motto: “Life is short. Every day is a treasure.”
