Moonshine still, live grenade found during Atlantic Beach narcotics investigation

Jacksonville, FL — An Atlantic Beach man has been arrested, after a narcotics investigation leads to the discovery of a live grenade.

The Atlantic Beach Tactical Team executed a search warrant on W 6th Street Tuesday, after conducting several controlled marijuana purchases from 37-year-old Adam Rowley at that location. The arrest report we've now obtained says Rowley told police he had a live grenade in his office, after he was detained. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad was called, and they recovered not only the live grenade, but another grenade that was not live. Those were turned over to the US Navy.

Rowley answered some questions from police, including confirming that everything in the building belonged to him, but he ultimately declined to speak specifically about the drugs. Almost 70 grams of marijuana was recovered at the location, according to the arrest report.

The arrest report says police also located a moonshine still and multiple gallons of moonshine in the room. Florida’s Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Special Agents responded to take possession of the still. They said Rowley could face more charges connected to that.

Rowley now faces charges of possession of a destructive device, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
