Parking passes now on sale for THE PLAYERS Championship

THE PLAYERS Championship doesn't start until March, but parking passes are on sale now if you're planning to drive to the golf tournament.

You can't get into the lot without one, and they can only be purchased at www.theplayers.com.parking. Tournament officials say they will not be selling the passes at will call, Publix or anywhere on the lot.

They say you can still park for free without a parking pass on Tuesday and Wednesday. But it will cost you $35 on Thursday and $40 over the weekend.

There is an option to beat the fees if you bring others with you. Anyone with four or more people in a vehicle can park for free, but you'll need to download the "Four For Free" parking voucher in advance. You can do that on the website as well.

If you plan on doing participating in the carpool program throughout the tournament, officials say you will need a new voucher for each day. Those can either be printed out or saved on electronic devices.

They also suggest alternate methods of getting to the tournament like Uber, bicycles or golf carts. Complimentary parking is offered for people who choose those options.
