April Davis is WOKV’s News Director and Morning Co-anchor of Jacksonville’s Morning News on News 104.5. April joined WOKV in 2023 after more than 20 years of experience as a reporter, anchor, producer, and newsroom manager across the country from Alaska to Colorado to the Carolinas.
She led her morning news team in Denver to win a regional Emmy for coverage of the George Floyd riots in 2021. She’s also won several regional RTNDA and press club awards for her reporting on transportation and crime investigations. Her most memorable reports were along the Iditarod Trail in Alaska, traveling with the Coast Guard post 9-11 to secure the Trans-Alaska oil pipeline, post- Katrina devastation in Louisiana, and telling the stories of brave Marines serving at Camp Lejeune and Air Station Cherry Point.
April loves the beach, kayaking, walking her dog and fresh seafood. She welcomes suggestions on the best area restaurants and beautiful kayaking spots.
